Fall Comp? Yes
Spring Comp? No

The Harvard Ballroom Dance Team is an undergraduate organization to promote Ballroom and Latin Dancing in the Harvard community and to represent Harvard and collegiate ballroom to the larger Ballroom community through outreach and competitions.

We are a fun and supportive community, holding frequent social events and creating opportunities for freshman to get to know upperclassmen. Many people find their closest friends on the team, and we hope you will be able to do the same!

Comp Process

The Ballroom Dance Team has no comp - just join! Team members usually have no prior experience and no partner— you don’t need one either. Just bring yourself and be ready to have fun!

For members with no previous ballroom experience, we have the rookie program. We teach all 19 dances including: waltz, tango, foxtrot, quickstep, viennese waltz, cha cha, rumba, jive, paso doble, swing, bolero, mambo, and samba in the American and International styles. Classes are on Tuesdays and Thursday.

For members with previous ballroom experience, we have our vet program. We offer Standard and Latin classes including the following dances: waltz, tango, foxtrot, quickstep, viennese waltz, cha cha, rumba, jive, samba, paso doble in the International Styles.

Every semester, our team attends three competitions. This includes a competition in New York in December. We also have a team trip to Montreal in February, where our members spend 4 days exploring the city and having fun as they dance at a competition.
