Housing & Amenities

Stoughton has two vertical entryways, Stoughton North (“StoNo”) and Stoughton South (“StoSo”), with each entryway consisting of a proctor and approximately 30 students. Room layout is identical to that of its neighbor Hollis, featuring spacious doubles with hardwood floors and faux fireplaces and common bathrooms.

StoNo houses the common room for Stoughton and includes a full-size kitchen and printer available for residents to use. Stoughton also has a laundry room in its basement, shared with residents of neighboring dorms, along with vending machines and a garbage room.

The current building was constructed in 1805, but the original Stoughton was built in 1700. Stoughton is named after its benefactor Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor William Stoughton.

Notable past residents include basketball star Jeremy Lin, TV personality Dr. Oz, and director of the Met in NYC Philippe de Montebello.

The Stoughton mascot is a stingray.
